How long can a person survive suffering from bulimia before it gets to the point where they could die?

No, you can die from an eating disorder (bulimia, anorexia, or EDNOS) at any weight, regardless of how "healthy" the person looks. In fact, it is more likely that a person will die from bulimia without being underweight than a person with anorexia. How long it takes for the person to die really depends. I know people who have passed on after about a year of being bulimic. I on the other hand have gone seven years. Bulimia often goes unnoticed because there often isn't a sudden decrease in weigh that is typically associated with eating disorders, however bulimia tends to be moe dangerous. For example, occasionally stomach acid can go down the wrong way while purging, touch the person's lungs, and they can suffocate. The person can go into cardiac arrest while purging. Electrolyte imbalances can kill a person while they are sleeping. All of these things can happen while the person is at a normal weight and looks "healthy." Bulimia is no joke.
